YES EVERYONE! You have heard that right! It’s January 3 which marks the same exact date that I created and started this blog a year ago.
I can’t believe it’s been a whole year / 365 days / 12 months, since I’ve created this blog. I still remember making this blog and determining what I should write and blog about like it all just happened yesterday, but a year has already passed since K-Popcorn opened and I couldn’t be prouder of the results and turn-out.
A year ago, I created this blog and called it ‘K-Popcorn’ just because I wanted a way of expressing myself and the love and passion I have for K-Pop and Korean dramas. For almost a decade now, I’ve been following the Korean entertainment and industry closely and so I thought that maybe opening up a blog and talking about it would help me express my feelings and thoughts towards certain K-Pop MVs and K-Dramas and also give me the opportunity to discuss about it with other fellow K-Pop and K-drama lovers as well. A year later, I’ve gotten more love and support from so many people from so many locations and countries than I expected and anticipated and through all of this, I am just so grateful. I actually didn’t think anyone was going to visit my blog so I had originally planned to make it a journal, but after getting hits, views, visits, and comments from kind visitors and readers, I ended up doing more with my blog and I don’t regret that choice. At the end of the day, I’m glad that I have this special opportunity to connect with others around the world through the amazing subjects known as K-Pop and Korean dramas. I truly believe that K-Pop and K-dramas possess this amazing ability to bring people together – people of all races, color, religions, etc. – and that’s why I still follow up with it to this day. I love talking about Korean entertainment with others who also share the same love and affection for it because it’s truly a joy knowing that you and this person you have never met before have something in common and share the same thoughts and sentiments as well. It’s a really great feeling and I’ve come across many people like that through K-Popcorn which I’m really happy I’ve gotten the chance to do.
I know that towards the end of 2014 I really slacked off and did not post at all which makes me a bit sad and disappointed in myself, but I’m entering 2015 with optimism and determination hoping to not make the same mistake. I’m planning to post at least once every day and to stick with the dramas I begin to recap on (as difficult as it may be). As a blog that covers on both Korean dramas and K-Pop, I’ll try to focus on both and balance both subjects out to the best of my ability. There are many things I look forward to in 2015 regarding these two subjects and I hope that I’ll get to blog about the many great things that are to come and most of all, I hope that you’ll be there to enjoy all of this with me and discuss about it with me!
I’ve said this so many times, but I will say it over and over again – thank you to all of my visitors, readers, followers, etc. Y’all are the reason as to why K-Popcorn is alive to this day and why it’s still running and dwelling. I’ve never thought about quitting this blog, but there were times when I didn’t want to commit to it so I was inactive, but hopefully this year will pick up and I will go back to blogging. All of this was only possible through you guys, so thank you for supporting me and giving me love! Although I might not reply back to your comments, I do read them all and I really do appreciate you taking your time to comment on my blog. All those comments complimenting me and thanking me means a lot to me and motivates me to work even harder, especially during those moments and times when blogging can be difficult to do so thank you once again everyone for all the love, encouragement, and support! I don’t think any amount of ‘thank you’s’ will be enough to really express all my gratitude and appreciation, but I have learned so much in a year just from blogging and have come to realizing just how much passion I have for K-Pop and K-drama and from blogging, I’m reminded daily of why I continue to stick with it even though I could clearly move on from this phase and into another. Being a writer of K-Popcorn also gives me the chance to improve on my writing so there’s that aspect about blogging that I like as well. There are so many wonderful, beneficial, and great things about having your own blog and it’s a combination of all of these things and so many more (that I just cannot list at the moment) that makes blogging worth all of that time, effort, hard work, and feels.
Whether you have been with me from the very beginning or have just recently discovered this blog, thank you for visiting K-Popcorn and hopefully you’ll stick with me! I can’t guarantee that I’ll be the best writer and that you will agree with me and my thoughts and opinions on certain subjects, but I can guarantee you that I will give you the best of me in these posts that appear on my blog.
It’s a new year so let’s all be optimistic and start this year on a good note and hopefully end it on a good note as well. Happy 2015 everyone! 🙂
One response to “SAY WHATTTT? It’s K-Popcorn’s First Year Anniversary?!”
Happy New Year, Mary! And congrats on K-Popcorn’s 1st anniversary! Here’s to many more years to go!
I’ve just begun to watch Healer and the guy playing Seo Inguk’s manager in King of High School was in it – couldn’t recognize him at first but I found him soooo familiar-looking. The actor playing Inguk’s adopted dad is in Healer too. Then I suddenly thought of your website 🙂
